This song accompaniment was inspired by the forthcoming visit of the Salvation Army Symphonic Wind Ensemble (SASWE) to Brighouse. In essence, it is an upbeat arrangement of All Things Bright and Beautiful with hints of the English Traditional: Floral Dance.
Early trials would seem to indicate it will be very popular with church, garden party and bandstand audiences with minimal rehearsal.
Pom, Pom, Pom
The music is cross-cued to make it viable with 6/7 players. The percussion part adds a lot of character to the music but is not essential. Similarly, the addition of a tambourine etc. is encouraged.

UNA NAVIDAD ARGENTINE, is a suite of traditional Argentine Christmas carols. This piece was written for the Young People’s Band of Birmingham Citadel so is written to be effective with 5 or more players.

This tour de force solo by Andrew R. Mackereth was described by Mark Murray as ‘Arban meets Godzilla.’ The piece comprises a series of variations on the gospel song: ‘Heaven came Down (and Glory Filled my Soul).’ The lyrical middle section draws on an even older song; He Came right Down to Me.’

This piece by Andrew R. Mackereth is a feature for the Euphonium & Baritone sections of the band. The accessible writing style ensures it maximises the appeal whilst minimising the time needed for rehearsal! The scoring is such that it is playable with two, three or four soloists. At the request of the Haaglanden Salvation Army Band an additional, entirely optional fifth part has been added to the full band set.
This piece is a parody of Tocatta in D Minor by JS Bach using the song: ‘I Will sing his Praises.’
The horns will love it!
